Mental Health and Wellness professionals engaging in our programming should understand the unique challenges that Ethnic people face simply breathing while Black or Brown, and also understand the resilience and rich history that Ethnic people possess. The Mental Healthand WellnessIntern who is applying to this role will be engaged in their own culturally responsive journey to ensure that they are consciously working on their own repertoire of skills and behaviors to support our clients. • Assesses, monitors, and follows up with client’s toward goals and desires. 

• Supports clients in accessing additional culturally informed community-based services and supports. 

• Infuses spirituality and religion in the therapeutic process as identified by the client. 

• Provides comprehensive strengths-based mapping and goal setting designed to identify the strengths and areas of opportunity. 

• Support clients in developing interests and leisure time activities to provide a sense of participation and personal worth, including opportunities for age appropriate, culturally appropriate daytime and evening activities. 

• Identifies and collaborates with potential natural support systems; such as community elders, advocates, agencies, churches, and other organizations. 

• Utilizes the strengths of the client’s village to support and promote wellness. • Understands and engages in BIPOC trauma frameworks and historical perspectives.
